Bachata

Bachata is a music genre that originated in the Dominican Republic in the 20th century. It's a social couple's dance and it's performed in counts of 4. There are mainly three styles or variations:

1) the traditional / Dominican Bachata, which danced with an accent on the footwork and simple turns,

2) Fusion / Moderna, which involves more complicated turns and arm/hand tricks,

3) Bachata Sensual, which is generally danced in more closer positions and involves full body waves and hip and neck movements.

In the Bachata beginners class Sirly will teach the basics and some other elements of all three styles.
